Reaping What I Have Sown

I have my finest Cambodian Oudh on. Of course it's for a special occasion.

I'm sat in one of 7 cars being driven to collect Mrs SoulSeek.

The back seat is empty. It's calm and it's serene. The complete opposite of what has been over the last week. The last month. The last year. And as far as I can remember. Such is life.

These are the small things you truly begin to appreciate.

I thank Allah for granting me this opportunity and this kind gift. I thank you all for dua and your continued support.

Every individual that has contributed to their own cause in self-development, the journey to marriage or quite simply commented on this blog; you're very special.

Much love. Allah bless each and every one of you.

I feel like my life was on hold for the past 2 years since this begun. May this open doors for greatness and the opportunity to write more.

Today, a new chapter begins.

I'm excited. So, darn excited!

She is the coolness to my eyes and the comfort of my heart.

  3. MashAllah, tabarakAllah congrats Akhi! Omg, I think this goes all the way back to when you had a row with your fiancee on text messages, when your father (may Allah swt have mercy upon him) was in the hospital. May Allah swt make this sacred bond of marriage an enternal one that allows you to get to jannah hand in hand with Mrs Soulseek. Ameen.

  10. Bullshit. There are people who have been waiting for almost ten years. I no longer believe in religion. If there was a God why does he only reward those with shitty characters and morals. Looks, intelligence, wealth everything!!!!!

    1. Let's not be bitter just because you gave up.

This is akin to the same question as 'what kind god would allow evil to prevail?'

Evil is ultimately a trial. To test the good from the bad, the filth from the pure. What is good without evil?

Firstly, what we perceive as evil is relative and subjective. In school when a child has vaccination, there's that one child who feels it more than others. He would deem that as an evil act.

Similarly just how he cannot comprehend the benefits of that vaccination, you clearly cannot comprehend why God is doing this. God hasn't benefited you and for that reason; you're out.

In my world, that's called self-serving, selfish, a person that's only used to getting things on his terms.

That's the difference between those who succeed and those that fail.

That attitude doesn't lead to a bright future.

  11. It's a man's world. There's always some criticism of some sort against women. I have friends who are women (not just Muslim) who are in their 40s etc and they go through the same rubbish even at that age. I have one friend for example who is in her 40s and she was arranging marriage with a 52 year old. He seems to think he wants a much younger woman than her and also tries to play mind games in order to 'want' him more. He then proceeds to try to make her jealous by saying explaining how popular he is with the opposite sex and how he has multiple women on tap. Not just one scenario. It seems to be happening everywhere. Men always have more choice and often go for the 'fair', 'virgin' who is 'good looking'. And then men say she was attractive because of her 'personality' similar to the Spanish girl you once liked. Those girls have no hang ups because they are 'pretty' and so can play the 'demure' female with any guy.

Being a Muslim, you do begin lose faith and as a Muslim woman, I'm now considering marrying outside the faith should someone come along. There's a lot of hypocrisy with regards to gender roles and 'man made' religion stereotypes.

Also had men say that they prefer Northern girls, because they're more easy......or should I say laid back.....

  12. Men can *choose* their partners but women have to *sacrifice* and accept what comes along. Then, like you, have the nerve to bitch about the quality of people out there and say it's negative attitudes and bitterness which comes into play. It's hormonal. If a woman hasn't had sex and she's of marriageable age, she wants some! So if some idiot can have multiple women on tap, then she's left on her own as usual. Gender politics and crap man-made religion. I for one, don't mind polygamy. There, said it.

  13. There are ALL kinds of people everywhere....I am a woman and I know not every woman is the dedicated...genuine...wifey..motherly...appreciative....women also do everything you mentioned about men above....get over your anger ....calm down..and you will see clearly InshAlllah....dont ever let anyone dull your sparkle...dont let your trust be ruined because of a few psychologically ill people who have no idea what they are doing with thier life...many men and women abuse each other in relationships...there are so many women who are not letting other women keep their trust in humanity....remember we r all human before anything...respect humanity.....stop falling into this trap of women are this and men are that... May Allah always let us All see the positive...lighter and brighter side of life...

Anyway...still waiting for more writings....the mystry is still there....how did the two hearts unite????:)))

    1. I'm surprised to see you around. How are you bro? :D

You would think that one more commitment is just a number. When it (marriage) hits - any available time is usurped.

I have many reflections but time on the other hand...

  16. Good alhamdullilah. Still ticking along, but hoping to produce more on the blog this year insha-Allah.

Available time? For me, that ball didn't drop on marriage. Only once the kids arrived ;)

I'd advise you to *make* time for recording those reflections. Otherwise they'll never make it out to the world, and I think you still have a lot of amazing stories and lessons to share with us :)
